Une fleur dans le fleuve Commemorative Audio Walk

Montréal’s Rwandan community meets in April each year to commemorate the hundreds of thousands of men, women and children who were murdered during the 1994 genocide. The audio tour follows the route of the commemorative walk from Berri-UQAM Metro (corner of Berri and St-Catherines) to the Sailors’ Memorial Tower on the St. Lawrence River in the Vieux Port. As you walk alongside busy Montréal streets, you will be guided by the voices of Rwandan Montréalers who will share their stories with you.

The audio guide will no longer be available to download. Instead, participants will be lent a listening device at the meeting point in order to follow the walk. We also encourage those who have a portable CD player to bring it along, as CD will also be available to borrow for the duration of the walk.

The Audio Walk will be lending 32 MP3 players on a first-come, first-served basis, along with jack-splitters for sharing in case the requested number exceeds this. As the stories that will be shared are of a sensitive nature, MP3s are not available for download for the use with private MP3 Players. We apologize for this inconvenience, and encourage you to arrive early!
