A survivor of the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda is guest of honour at Montreal's Salon du Livre

For her second book «La femme aux pieds nus»  («The woman in bare feet») (Gallimard, 2008) dedicated to the memory of her mother, Scholastique Mukasonga is one of the guests of honour at Montreal's Salon du Livre which takes place November 19 to 24 at Place Bonaventure. « A tribute to a  mother, guardian of traditions, is also a truthful description of ancestral traditions preserved despite colonization. Throughout chapters dedicated to the things of daily life, a dissapeared world resurfaces. Scholastique Mukasonga regrets having forgotten certain details, certain words. But she has retained a lot, and she offers us, what she failed to offer to her mother. » (Pierre Maury, Le Soir, Belgique).
